Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de stress.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Support my wife's endeavor to do long distance road biking and her renewed interest in running! Keep biking more with her as cross training maybe do a Century ride.

Personal:

Born in 1968.  I live in Idaho Falls, ID.  I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

4.75M very early this morning as I had to be at work by 6:00am to head out to the desert.  Easy progression run from a 7:44 pace to a 6:35 pace with about 0.75M at around my MP for this weekend (6:18).  Felt pretty good and the weather was great (30 degrees, no wind), but I almost did not get up as I was dead tired last night and thought about skipping the run for an extra hour of sleep, but alas I awoke at just before 4am and could not get back to sleep.   Taper continues so no lunch run today.

total time:  33:57  (Trigon - 514 miles)

Very early runs- good character builders...

Thanks, nice run for you yesterday.

BTW, I hope you took my responses back to you yesterday in the joking fashion they were intended (I did get the humor in your comments as well). Gotta infuse some humor here and there. Of course, just post a pic of your green shorts and we will all get a laugh!

No worries, I never take anything on the blog seriously. I dish out far more than my fair share of trash talking and sarcasm and humour, so expect equal amount in return.

Jeff,

Have fun with the marathon this weekend. I'm sure you'll do a great job with the pacing.

Your comments about my training run for Robie Creek were right on: I stopped where it started getting tough. I think I climbed just over 1000' in 5.2 miles and had 900+ more to go in just 3.2. The road was a big mucky where I turned around but with the warmer weather should be clearing soon. I'll make a shot for the top this weekend, probably. That last stretch is a beast!

Jeff, what do you do for a living? I had assumed it was something from the medicine field because of your advice about IT band stuff when you were here. But then why would you be driving off into the desert in the wee hours of the morning?

Great job getting up. And have a great race this weekend--good luck!

Lybi, I am a project manager for the Department of Energy at the Idaho National Laboratory, a nuclear energy research laboratory. I oversee projects that involve infrastructure (roads, utilities, new buildings).

Thanks everyone for the well wishes (I got to make it through this taper madness period!).
