Personal:

Born in 1968.  I live in Idaho Falls, ID.  I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Married for 26 years with two children (20 and 17).

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6M early before Kami went to work.  Easy, easy, easy as I still am struggling with motivation right now to run...tired.   (Stratos)

What a race yesterday, about the only thing that got me out this morning.

5M at lunch on a beautiful day (cool, sunny, light breeze).  I kinda wanted to run hard so I started out at slow MP but just wasn't feeling it to speed  up.  Overall pace of 6:40 for the run so still on the easier side.  Just happy to be outside running in this weather in November. (Progrid Ride)

My energy level continues to be low and draggy and I don't know why, a vitamin deficiency perhaps?

Understand the motivation issue. You have had a big year this year. The race yesterday was really exciting. USA is making big improvements in distance running which is exciting to watch.

Yeah I agree you have had a huge year! I thought it was stupid of Paula R to run with a hammy problem.. I think she was under pressure from the press as shes pulled out of so many races this year. Yes Distance runners are doing great from the USA and so deserved the USA have really got some great stuff going on for distance runners very jealous as the uk arent backing there athletes at all not even with the Olympics coming to London... distance runners just take to long to peak apparently !

Are you planning to take a few weeks off?

From jtshad on Mon, Nov 02, 2009 at 15:15:36 from 204.134.132.225

Jon, maybe not a total layoff but definitely a scale back on pace and distance thing. Just run natural, doing whatever feels good for the day with no real expectations.

Gotta get my energy level back, that is what has been really lacking since Indy.
