Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de stress.

No racing, retired.

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Support my wife's endeavor to do long distance road biking and her renewed interest in running! Keep biking more with her as cross training maybe do a Century ride.

Born in 1968.  I live in Idaho Falls, ID.  I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired.

Married for 25+ years with two children (19 and 16).

A little too much too fast yesterday.  I woke up with the intention of running this morning but my hip was a bit sore.  So, I went back to bed to rest it and will only do a single run at lunch today.  Need to be patient...I know this but like most runners try to get back too fast from an injury. 

7.6 miles in 52 minutes (6:50 average) on a beautiful day at lunch.  I was running around a 6:35-6:40 pace for the first 5 miles, then ran with Dan for the last 2.6 miles about 7:20ish.  I felt my hip a little so I know I am still on the mend and have to keep taking it a bit easier but it was not painful or an issue, just there.  (Cortana)

May I suggest a bike ride? It's about the only cross training I've found that I can push myself as hard as running without the ill side effects.

It's so hard to want to hold back when your at a level were your focusing on an important race in the future. I do know the feeling. Your doing great and things will heal. I bet with the wind at Utah Valley Marathon your glad you pulled out.
