Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Pretty standard 6M early really easy run in cool temps and a pretty good breeze...nothing exciting just miles.

total time: 46:00  (T2 - 526 miles)

6M MP run around the greenbelt with a 0.25M cooldown on a nicer day (slight wind but not bad).  Decent splits: 1- 6:19,2- 6:15,3- 6:18;4- 6:12,5- 6:01,6- 6:05, 0.25M - 1:38.  Hit 6M at 37:10 and may last 2M were my fastest and included the most uphill.  Right quads is a bit twingy after the run, but not bad.

total time: 38:48  (Trigon - 310 miles)

Have you decided what you want to do travel-wise next weekend?

From jtshad on Fri, Jun 13, 2008 at 10:05:45

I leaning towards staying for the whole thing and heading back after the finish. Sorry if this doesn't work for you, but if I am going to come down for the event, I would like to see it through. I know that you have competing and higher priorities to get back earlier, so I hope you can get things arranged to make that happen.

Congrats again on the arrival of Aspen...when does Marci come home from the hospital?

From Jon on Fri, Jun 13, 2008 at 15:33:30

Actually, Marci decided that she prefers to not go to IF until Saturday morning with me, so it is fine that you are staying. Have fun at the finish. I'll still leave early, pick up my wife in Brigham City, and go to the festivities. You guys will have to photoshop my picture into the finish photos.

By the way, are you really runner 6 for White team? I'm runner 6 for Blue- you better watch out that you don't let me beat you in split times or I'll own the bragging rights for a while. Of course, you are too nice of a guy for me to brag to, but still...

Yeah, I am now number 6 and waiting to smoke you on that first downhill leg. Bring in on! :-)
