Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Slept in this morning since it is my day off and went running after taking the kids to school.  10M in 1:11:40 on a cold but windless day.  Legs felt great during the run but I had terrible acid reflux today which really started to hurt near the end of the run and caused me to slow down a bit.

Now off to Poky to use gift certificates and meet Kory for lunch or a run!

Lunch OR a run?? Crazy!!

It is my husband's day off and he is upstairs cleaning the house. Just a hint for you! I try to help out all the wives out there when I can.

Have a good weekend, hope it stays windless. It is WINDY here but not too cold.

Cold and windless sounds like almost the ideal condition for a nice 10-20 miler (granted, my born-and-raised-in-the-South idea of cold might be a little different from yours...)

From jtshad on Fri, Nov 20, 2009 at 12:14:44 from 69.20.183.178

Kelli, I am on tap to clean the toilets and mop floors later...I do my share around the house!

Nevels, it was nice, but I would have preferred temps in the 40/50 range rather than 15-20!

From Nevels on Fri, Nov 20, 2009 at 12:20:03 from 131.204.15.93

yeah, 15-20 is a bit cool, but anywhere from 30-50 keeps me happy on the long stuff. (again, from the sheltered AL perspective - but i did go on a run once in 12 degrees with a wind chill of 8 - does that count as cold to you hard core runners up there, because it was pretty stinking cold to me....)

Thanks for your comments in regard to my sleep question! I agree with you and am strapping on my shoes as soon as I send this. I appreciate it...have a wonderful weekend!

I'd say - Jeff helps out a ton more around the house than any husband I know!

From Kelli on Fri, Nov 20, 2009 at 13:25:15 from 71.219.71.229

Good man!!! My husband mopped, I cleaned the toilets. He vacuumed, I scrubbed the tub. He shook the rugs and swept, I ran! Now I do laundry while he runs...he can fold it when he gets back!
