Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Standard 7M early this morning down Sunnyside.  Felt great this morning, so I pushed the pace a little more than usual and ended up with a 7:15 avg. for today.  The last 3M were actually sub-7:00.  Will try to get a good lunch run in today, kinda hectic week as I am acting for my boss while he is on vacation, so a lot more meetings than usual.

Bought Kami new running shoes yesterday that are a 1/2 size large so she can run without causing blisters on the end of her toe from rubbing.  She broke them in this morning with a 4M run, and she was excited to get back out running...yeah!

total time: 50:45  (Trigon 2 - 348 miles)

7M at lunch on a beautiful day, a little breeze and about 77 degrees.  Easier first mile (6:35) then 2M at slower MP (6:13, 6:24), a easy mile (6:34), then 3M at slow MP (6:21-6:24) for an overall avg. of 6:26.  Felt great, a good day of running.

total time:  44:59 (Trigon 1 - 471 miles)

What brand of shoes did you buy for Kami? I'm always looking for good shoes and deals!

We bought a pair of the Saucony Tornado 2 that are on sale at Big 5 for $50. A good stability shoe that supports her gait (she is actually very neutral but these help her a bit more). One of the best local shoes I have found, though Sports Authority has some good shoes, more main stream (and more $).
