Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Very tired this morning...I got sucked into a movie last night and didn't get to sleep until late so ended up with only about 4.5 hours.  Still got to the gym by 4:30 for my run.  1 mile warmup, 6.2 miles at a MP progression (6:22 to 5:27), 0.8 mile recovery then 1 mile at MP to finish up the run in 57 minutes.

I got my invitation yesterday for the 2011 Saucony Hurricane team.  Now I just need to make sure that Saucony and PowerBar will allow me to have both sponsorship...should work since they are not competitors.

I don't know how you do those early morning runs...especially without much sleep.

Congrats on the Saucony deal. Can't imagine there being a conflict there.

Congrats on the Saucony deal Jeff! Do you get free shoes and all the usual goodies?

Way to be committed to the early morning. If I don't get it done in the morning it intrudes into areas of my life that it doesn't belong. Congratulations on the Saucony invitation! Hope the hamstring is feeling better.

And the lower back!

From Jon on Wed, Feb 09, 2011 at 21:48:55 from

So how did you get hooked up with this newest sponsorship?

From jtshad on Thu, Feb 10, 2011 at 10:15:54 from

Jon, because they heard about how great a runner I am...NOT!

I made the connection through the women's winner at last year's B&A Trail marathon (she runs for Saucony) and got on the list to submit my application. Only 75 folks on the team this year and they tightened the requirements. They took pity on the old guy and gave me a I just hope they don't see the PowerBar sponsorship as a competing brand.

Man, you've sure got the connections!
