Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6M easy early this morning before Kami had to leave for work at 5:30am in cooler (37 degrees) and calm conditions.  Ran in my new Saucony ProGrid Ride's that I bought at the expo in Boston.  Felt good especially since I woke up with the ball of my foot being a little tender.  Yep, definitely time to retire the T2, T3 and Stratos' shoes.  (Ride)

A beautiful morning, hoping for a good run at lunch to prepare for tomorrow's 10K (part of a long Saturday run).

9M at lunch on an absolute gorgeous day...warm, sunny and most importantly...NO wind!  I ran with a singlet or shirtless for the whole run...ahh sunshine.  1M easy, MP miles, then 1M easy.  Splits:  6:47, 6:24, 6:09, 5:54, 6:19, 6:34 (on purpose), 6:22, 6:42.  Overall a great run at an avg. 6:24 which felt very easy.  New shoes were great, no foot tenderness nor achilles twing.  (Ride)

Good luck in the 10k tomorrow. However, it sounds like you might be training through it.

Yeah, just some speedwork in the long workout day as it is just a local race.

Go win it.

Oh 10k's. I hate them. Not as much as I hate 5k's though. Good luck. I'm sure you'll go add another win to your belt.

Good Luck Jeff, great work out, and feeling easy, I love summer wish it was warm here, its so horrible the weather in the uk at the moment...

Ill loook up and see what those saucony are like, I tend to stick to NIKE though, but its worth looking as you rate them so well..

I love Saucony's, even the cheap one's I can buy around my town. The Ride/Guide are good solid trainers. The Tangents/Fastwitch are good lightweight trainers/racers.

Good luck Jeff I know you'll do well. I like the Saucony Tangent 3's. I have three pairs of them.
