I placed first in the Teton Dam Half Marathon! I ran the course in 1:24:45 at a pace of 6:28/mi. The second place finisher was 6 minutes behind me and I was the only finisher under 1:30.
I started off in the front of the pack. After about 1\2 mile, it was just me and the second place guy until about mile 2. The course was uphill from the start until 8 miles, and based on talking to the young guy with me, I knew it was only a matter of time until he dropped back...he started off way too fast for his desire pace (7:00\mi) as we were running about 6:15/mi and he was likely not ready for the hill that really got going around 2 miles.
I was able to keep a 6:45 pace up the hills and made up the time from mile 8-13 going downhill and flat through the city.
Overall, it was a challenging course and I made my time goal (1:25) but was surprised with my first place finish and how far back the field was! Man, it feels great!
