Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de stress.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Support my wife's endeavor to do long distance road biking and her renewed interest in running! Keep biking more with her as cross training maybe do a Century ride.

Personal:

Born in 1968.  I live in Idaho Falls, ID.  I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired.

Married for 24 years with two children (18 and 15).

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

I got up feeling terrible, hacked up a lung last night....after a cold pill and some coffee felt a little better and decided to go aheard and run since it was a glorious morning.

Started off easy and got into cruising pace and essentially ran the entire race varying only +/- 15 seconds per mile.  Ran steady.  Ran first three miles with a nice young guy then he pulled away (beat me by a minute for fourth) and finished right where I thought I would based on training, hammy/glute and missing a lung.

Long drive home...stiff legs. (Tangent)

Nice work Jeff.

Just noticing your "lift weights more" goal. Is that new? I'd love to chat with you about that someday.

Thanks. Not been too successful in the weights goal, try more over winter.

Coming up this weekend?

Congratulations Jeff. Not easy being sick and racing. Just got into weight lifting myself lately. I can definitely say that it has been a nice change from the usual mileage grind:)

Nice race, Jeff.

I'm partial to pull-ups and push-ups. My push-ups have been lacking lately.

Good job on fighting through. Hope you are feeling better!
