Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

6M on the TM at home after Kami went to work and the kids were still asleep.  Watched "Hancock", but 6M was all that I could muster today...no motivation, need the break I think from higher volume training for at least a little while.

Time with family today and a Halloween party tonight with friends.

Jeff - We all need a mental and physical break or we get broken down. Here's a paragraph from Ryan Hall's blog that describes what he does right after a marathon. we could all take lessons

Ryan's Halls Blog:

"People are always surprised when I tell them I let myself get out of shape over a two-week complete no-run recovery period after all my marathons. I have come to see it as a very necessary part of marathon training. I have tried only taking a modified break and found that I came back in very good shape but then as I began my training my body goes stale, begins to breakdown in the form of injuries, and I see very little improvement. Recovery is a necessary part of the cycle of a marathon runner. Plus, if you never let yourself get out of shape its harder to appreciate being in shape."
