Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

12M on the TM at home this morning watching "The Italian Job".  Kami went out early to check on the after Christmas clearance stuff and was gone 3 hours!  I decided to hit the TM at home instead of waiting to go to the gym once she got home.  So, after spending an hour outside shoveling the driveway clear of 2 foot drifts, I hit the TM.  5M easy pace (6:30-6:40), then 6M at MP (6:25-6:15) followed by a cooldown mile.  Overall one of the better runs at home on the TM in a while.  Weighed myself after the run and I had lost 5 lbs., so yesterday's indulgences had been worked off!  Broke open new shoes to go for this longer run as well. Jeff - Way to get the miles in on the treadmill. What are you shooting for at Disney Marathon?

Disney should be fun for the marathon and vacation. I have had a couple of friends run the marathon and they said it was a good time/course. Hope you all have a great time.

So are your kids excited for Disney World?

I'm gradually getting back to feeling better, but am leaving Monday, so I don't think we'll be able to run together this time. Hope you had a good Christmas, and I'll let you know next time I am in town.

The WDW marathon should be fun and it is at the beginning of the vacation, so I can take the rest of vacation as recovery time. I am shooting for around a 2:40.

Jon, I am glad you are feeling better and I hope you had a good Christmas as well. Drive home safely.
