Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

5M early this morning on our home TM because my wife had to be at work 6:00am.  Not too motivated and still waking up with a bit of the crud but it is improving each day.  Pushed myself just to get 5, but at least at a decent clip.  Try to get a longer run at lunch today depending on how things go with getting my truck checked out.

Total time:  32:00   (Saucony Trigon - 124 miles)

6.75M run at lunchtime around the river with Jon Allen.  We planned on hooking up and decided about 1 hour before the run to go for it even with the pretty bitter cold (weather site said 7 degrees with -10 degree windchill before I left for the locker room)  but beautifully clear skies.

After dressing down into my winter running gear, discovered I forgot one thing...my running shoes!  I had taken the home to run in over the holidays and forgot to bring my locker room shoes back with me today.  So, I ran in my Rebok hikers that I wore to work today...a bit on the heavy side but they did the trick.

Great run with Jon at a nice even 7:00 pace...once again good company and conversation.  Heading south into the wind was really cold, but coming back with the wind at our backs was not too bad.

Happy New Years to everyone!

Total time:  47:45

It's great your feeling better sounds like you were hit hard by the wonderful winter sickness bug. That's great your family is going with you to see you run a killer time in the marathon.

Have a great new year Jeff, and enjoy the time with your family and get plenty of rest before your marathon.

Thanks for the run. Good job on the commando points with the boots. I'll let you know next time I come into town.

Glad you are feeling better. 7 minute pace in hiking boots, eh, maybe I should try it out! Happy New Year to you and your family!
