Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

5M easy early this morning in about 36 minutes. Temp was cool and a bit of rain but no wind. Just nice and easy, glad I went this morning as the wind is picking up and making it feel colder. (T3)

When do you leave for Boston?

From jtshad on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 12:32:26 from 204.134.132.225

We leave Friday morning and return Wednesday morning. We get to celebrate our anniversary in Boston for the second time in 4 years!

From Jon on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 12:42:56 from 138.64.2.76

Have a good trip and good luck. I may stay home from work Monday so I can watch the race online. Well, that, and because my mom is visiting. If I do go to work, I'm sure I'll be constantly refreshing the athlete tracker website.

Good luck in Boston. I can't wait to read your race report. Happy Anniversary too. I'm glad your wife will be there with you. I ran Painter's 1/2 on mine and my husband won't let me forget it.:)

From Dustin on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 13:16:19 from 204.113.48.69

Good luck in Boston. I'm thinking about doing it again next year. I would like to go back there again and run a decent time. I'm training for Ogden, but I'm a little worried about my endurance. I haven't done very many longer runs.

From jtshad on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 13:27:25 from 204.134.132.225

Thanks everyone, should be fun.

Jon, wow staying home just to watch the race and track the FRB'ers...what a guy!

Dustin, good luck with Ogden this year!

Julie, good luck to you as well in Boston! Last year I got myself into the doghouse with my wife when I suggested I run SLC on our 15th anniversary! Got out of the doghouse by taking her the the beach in Florida instead. Boston is a different story so she is ok with this one (in 06 I was in trouble because the race was the day after Easter and we were away from the kids!).

Be safe in Boston and have fun dude! You will do great. I wished I could come try to keep up with you. I have your number and will be tracking you. No pressure! haha Good luck you should do well. Ken Pliska will be there, i dont know if youve met him but hes on page 23 of the Running Times magagzine for April issue on the right hand side with a big smile on his face. I kept up with him last year and faded about the same time he faded. He should fare pretty well this year, he ran a fast Moab time. Try keeping him in your sites.

Good luck in Boston! I know you will do awesome.

From Rachel on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 22:53:32 from 67.40.73.160

Bon Voyage Jeff & Good Luck. We'll be away too so I won't have a chance to check on your status until a week later - As Obama and Hilary will be in Trinidad this weekend and will be able to have cell service, perhaps they'll offer the same for Tobego and we can get some kind of service, but won't hold my breath... I know you'll do great but until then - Have Fun!

Thanks everyone.

Walter, yeah I saw his name on the registration and saw he did well at Moab. Would be good to hook up with another runner.
