Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6M early on a warm morning (45 degrees) and no wind.  Started easy then picked up the pace as the run progressed to finish in 41:49.  Lower back/piriformis a bit stiff, but otherwise felt good.  (Kinda have a tickle in my throat but I think it is the last remnants of the cold I had).  Only run for the day....taper, taper, taper.

Wow, you're racing this weekend, aren't you? What's your goal for Indianapolis? Why Indianapolis, if I may ask?

You have to do well on this race or I'll feel discouraged about mine, how's that for no pressure? :)

Yes, I am racing Indy this weekend. Goals are 2:35 (A), 2:37 (B), sub 2:40 (C). I am racing in Indy because we are visiting family in the area (grandma, aunt, uncle, cousins).

I will do my best and hope that all comes together on Saturday (weather, energy, health, focus, etc.)...you go into every marathon hoping that the day is a good day. But the marathon is a tricky and complicated thing...so no pressure!!!!

I think the taper is going to really do wonders for you. Hopefully everything will clear up before Saturday, then you'll be 100% Good luck with the rest of the week!
