Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6M on the TM at the gym.  I seriously thought about going outside this morning as it was 37 degrees with some good winds, but decided against it since there are still a lot of slick spots on the roads and pathways and I did not want to risk a slip or fall or twisting of something days before a race.  So, nice and easy 6:40ish paced run at the gym which felt good and easy.  It took about 3M to get into the run but finished feeling refreshed.  We leave for Ogden today to spend the night with some friends and fly out tomorrow around noon.  Warm weather here we come!

Hey, Good luck, cant wait to hear race report !

Very smart move on your part not running outside. You could have slipped or just adjusting your stride can cause injury issues when running on the icy areas. (Take it from me the dummy that did it Monday, and I'm still injured from it.)

Have a great vacation and enjoy the race whatever the outcome is.

Hey Jeff, if you have time this week, check out the video on the rnraz.com page and you'll see YOU in their video promoting the PF Chang Marathon, it's right at the beginning.

I was going to try to get in a 10 miler today but have Isabelle's sore throat and feverish symptoms, the next two days we're busy so I'm hoping I can fit a 10 miler in to decide about the 1/2!

Good luck tomorrow and ENJOY!

Shad,

Nice work buddy!! 16th overall and 2nd in your division! I know that's not a PR but you were going to have a good time with the family, right!? How was the humidity down there?
