Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Early morning departure for Pearl Harbor with the family. Came back and rested since my whole family is catching my crud. Spent some time in the pool then went for an easy 7 mile run up to Diamond Head and back just to get one in. Last day in Hawaii tomorrow.

Last day in Hawaii.  Got up and still have the crud, but went out for a 7 mile run up to Diamond Head and back...really nice morning.  Justin and Kami were not feeling good so I let them sleep in.  Big breakfast buffet then time at the beach and pool before heading to the airport for our flight home.

A long travel day that started last night.  We had mechanical difficulties on the plane departing Honolulu so we arrived at LAX 2 hours late and missed our connection.  Got a later flight which arrived in SLC about the time we should have been getting home to IF.  After the drive home, we were all tired and hit the rack early after getting things settled at home so no run today.  On top off it all, my entire family has this crud still and my daughter is especially bad right now.  I have had this for 3 weeks and it still won't let go!

I was tired and it was cold outside (22 degrees) so I slept in and will catch a run at lunch.

6 miles around the greenbelt in 42:30 during a late lunch run (trying to catch up this morning).  Still only about 75% of my energy level and I was having a very hard time getting a deep breath, this cold is a hard one.  (Ride)

5 easy miles with Moxie on a nice morning.  Shorter today as I got up late due to < 4hours of sleep with a sick daughter last night...poor girl has the crud worse that any of us has had it.  Still tired and congested.  I saw Curt and Becky out running, made plans to run with Curt the next couple of days.  Running in the Cortana's left a slight pain in my right foot. (Cortana)

14 miles easy on a cool morning.  7 miles with Curt through SRL to the greenbelt and back, then 7 miles with Andrea out and back on Sunnyside.  Still hacking, low energy and hard breathing...this cold sucks!

Out for a group run with Curt, Andrea, Lynette and McKay.  We were going to run the rollers from the top of Sunnyside hill out to Bone and back, but the winds on top were terrible (30mph sustained).  We decided to run down the hill and through town to get out of the wind.  Unfortunately the wind had kicked up in town too so most of the run was into a stiff crosswind/headwind.  Curt and I ran together most of the run and he ran very strong!  I ran about 16.5 miles with the group then finished off another 4 miles solo for 20.5 miles in 2:23 (6:58 average).  A good run on a very windy day...almost like most of the run uphill!  (Mirage)
