Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6am...slept in a bit and had a cup of coffee before heading out for a run on a nice morning.  Ran out on San Marino and over past the Jordan temple and back for a total of 8 miles.  Went back to the room to see if either kid wanted to run.  Instead had breakfast and played in the pool before going back out for 4 miles over to the JRP and a mile out and back.  12 miles total for the morning, no shin pain (not fast either).

Good church service at Good Shepherd then the drive back home.

Going to be a busy week, lots going on every evening!

4:45am...6 easy miles with Moxie along Sunnyside.  Shin felt fine, a bit of lower back stiffness, likely from the drive yesterday.  (Ride 3 2015)

2 miles in the late afternoon after going to two funerals today...rough day.

4:30am...6.25 mile fartlek run on a nice morning with Moxie along Sunnyside.  Another busy day at work. (Ride 3 2015)

Was planning on a short run around the greenbelt with a coworker from out of town. He bribed me with a beer on the patio of the hotel instead.

5am...slept in (could not get up early) and decided to go out when I saw it was 50 degrees outside.  As Moxie and I were heading out the door I saw Alana and Gama up ahead.  Ran with them catching up on life events.  Ran most of my 6 mile run with them enjoying the early morning company.  (Ride 3 2015)

10K at lunch in just under 43 minutes.  Warmish and windy.  2 slower miles (7:05ish), 3 decent miles (~6:45), 1.2 slower (7:10ish) as my shin started to twinge at 5.5M so I slowed down back to the building. (Mirage Red)

I slept in on my day off after a long week.  Got the kids off to school and went running while Kami was riding with friends.

5 miles along Sunnyside with Moxie.  Dropped her off then ran through SRL to Bill's (stopped to say Hi) then around the east side of the river pathway (saw Charlie and Mike, have not talked to them in quite a while!) then back home.  I threw in many harder paced sections.  11.3 miles total on a glorious day.  Now for some yardwork chores to catch up after being gone for several weekends.  (Ride 3 2015)

6am...5 miles with Moxie along Sunnyside on a cooler morning. Was supposed to meet Craig but he could not make it.  Saw that Lynette showed up but I missed her.  Dropped Moxie off at home then went back out.

10.5 miles around the greenbelt.  Ran to the store for the group run but did not end up running with the group.  Last 3 miles really sucked as my energy level was low and my lower back was starting to hurt (likely from yesterday's yard work.).  Glad to get it done.  Now to go watch the Tiger/Grizz meet and Justin run the freshman mile.  No elite/coaches mile for me this year as I am still not quite back to racing form.  (Launch 2)

2.5 miles with Katelyn in the neighborhood focusing on form corrections.  Fun run!  (Bikila)
