Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6:15am...6 easy miles with Moxie along Sunnyside on a nice morning.  Sore from yesterday but good to get the run in.  More yardwork later today and maybe another run this evening depending on how it goes in the yard.  (Ride 3 2015)

4 more hours of yardwork.  A total of 29 bags of yard waste...the trashmen are going to hate us tomorrow.  I am very sore.

Afterwards Justin and I ran 4 miles really easy just talking and enjoying each others company.   Boy, I am ready to go to sleep now. (Launch 2)

4:45am...4 easy miles with Moxie along Sunnyside in a light rain.  Lower back stiff again.  Stretching for tendonitis and lower back.  (Ride 3 2015)

10K at lunch on a cool, cloudy day with threat of rain.  Nice and easy, no pain. (Mirage Red)

4 miles with Justin after work (before the heavy rain started!).  I like the feel of the Launch 2, but the durability kinda stinks (already lots of wear on sole ater 160 miles, much more than the Mirage/Ride with over twice the mileage).   (Launch 2)

4:45am...4.25 miles easy with Moxie.  Tired (stayed up a bit to watch Dave's last show).  Try to go longer at lunch.  (Ride 3 2015)

Nice day at lunch today.  I wanted to try to get some "pace" in.  1 mile wu, 4.5 miles at a pathetic 6:27 AP, 1 mile cd.  Overall 6.5 miles in 44+ minutes.  Stopped by the running store to say hi and check in on a few things.  Hammy tendonitis was tight and kept the AP slower than I would have liked.  (Mirage Red)

2 miles with Katelyn after work.  (Launch 2)

I slept in and helped get the kids ready for school then Gray picked me up to go run some hills.  We planned on the IronRim road through Blackhawk Estates.  Just shy of 4 miles to the top from where we parked.  No wind at all at the top.  As we were standing there we looked down the dirt road on the other side through the canyon and though...why not explore?  We took off down the road and just kept following it, wondering where it would come out.  Saw 3 trucks with trailers (I bet they were thinking what the heck?).  Ends up it comes out at the end of Ammon Road.  We continued on and ran back to the car, 13.5 miles in total in an easy 1;41.  Gray and Jeff's adventurous half marathon may be on tap as a race for later this year (at least a few more times running this route!).  (Launch 2)

Afterwards, several hours of yard work hauling 2.5 cubic yards of bark to the back to cover up the garden area we cleared.  I am beat, ready for food and a beer.

Had to help Justin and his teammates deal with some issues today about character and coaching.  Some ethical folks, some not so much.

I slept in and went out a bit later.  5 miles with Moxie along Sunnyside, then dropped her off and I went out for 2 miles with Katelyn, then 6.5 miles through SRL with Justin.  All on a great morning for a run...temp awesome, no wind, no rain! (Mirage Red)
