Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

It was pouring rain when I woke up so I skipped the run before church.  In the early afternoon I went out for a solo stress relieving run.  Started off warm and sunny so I ran over half the run shirtless.  Then on the way back from SRL, the clouds rolled in, wind picked up and the rain poured down.  Flashback to TCM 2008 I was so wet!  Surprised my Ipod did not short out!  6 miles in 41 minutes (6:50 avg).

Helped a bit with the stress...need to focus on the message from the book of Job this morning.  (Mirage Gray)

Bike ride in the evening with my family.

I woke up sore and tired.  Skipped the early run and stretched/foam rolled instead  and will try to go a bit longer at lunch or after work.

10 mostly easy recovery paced miles in 1:15 on a beautiful day.  Ran the last mile with Dan and Tim easy.  Hip and glute still a bit sore. (Impulse)

5:30am...slept in due to the triple yesterday and expecting it to be raining. Instead it was beautiful outside...so I took Moxie out for an easy 5 mile run to get one in for the day (expecting rain later). (Ride 5)

6 easy miles before the storm rolls in.  Nice temps and breezy but good run, besides being a bit sore and stiff. (Altra Impulse)

5:30am...ran with Rex this morning around the greenbelt.  I ran a loop before meeting Rex at the boatdocks then we did a loop from the docks to Sunnyside and back.  9 miles in a steady drizzle.  Two old guys with aching hamstrings...#painintherain.  (Mirage Gray)
