Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6 easy untimed miles on a cool and windy morning.  4 miles with Moxie then I dropped her off while I tried to convince Kami to go for a bike ride (unsuccessful).  A little hip discomfort at first but by 2 miles it was feeling good.  A little stiffness, but the pain was not as bad.

Booked my plane tickets for the US Masters Marathon Championships at the TCM this morning, a pretty good deal from Idaho Falls to Minneapolis (went down $50 from yesterday).

4:30am...6 easy untimed miles with Moxie.  No hip pain, can only feel it a little now a few hours later.  I think it is getting better but I will still be cautious this week. (Ride)

6.3 miles in 45:45 (7:15 avg) on a beautiful day at lunch.  Ran about 5 miles with Dan then I picked it up to slow MP for about a mile to see how the hips was doing (no issues, but don't want to push it).  Good run and nice to see the hip is improving with a little patience.  (Cortana)

2.5 miles running with the distance kids at track practice. Helped Katelyn learn hurdle form.

A little too much too fast yesterday.  I woke up with the intention of running this morning but my hip was a bit sore.  So, I went back to bed to rest it and will only do a single run at lunch today.  Need to be patient...I know this but like most runners try to get back too fast from an injury.

7.6 miles in 52 minutes (6:50 average) on a beautiful day at lunch.  I was running around a 6:35-6:40 pace for the first 5 miles, then ran with Dan for the last 2.6 miles about 7:20ish.  I felt my hip a little so I know I am still on the mend and have to keep taking it a bit easier but it was not painful or an issue, just there.  (Cortana)

4:15am...7.25 miles with Moxie on a warm and breezy morning.  Tired, felt my hips a little but no pain or issues.  Only run for today due to work schedule and afterwork activities.  (Ride)

4:30am...6 miles easy with Moxie on a nice morning.  Noticed the hip but no pain or issue.  Dropped off Moxie then decided to go back out for another easy mile.  (Ride)

5.25 miles on a beautiful day at lunch.  34:20 total time (6:32 average pace), 1 mile easy (6:45), then the rest at just under 6:30 for a slow MP run.  Hip felt good, no issues.  Wish I could have gone longer but had to get back for a meeting.  (Cortana)

Helped with the Gem State Track club meet.  Both kids did great, Katelyn ran the 100m, 200m and long jump.  Justin did the 1500m, 800m and long jump.  Good to see over 100 kids out for the summer track events!

I slept in and went out for a run with Moxie around 6am.  10k through SRL in around 38 minutes.

After the kids woke up, Katelyn and I ran a mile in 9 minutes (talking the whole time!). Then I went out for another 5.2 miles in 33 minutes for a good morning of running with no hip issues at all!  Very nice morning for a run! I saw Rocky, Alana and Maya  out running too.  (Kinvara)
