Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Marlin and I drove to Pocatello to run the City Creek trail again this weekend.  10 miles in 1:31...much more fun and easier than last week mostly due to the right shoes!  Thanks Marlin for a nice run this morning!  (Xodus)

All day today spent moving my High school son down to the basement and all the reorganzing and cleaning that comes with it...tired and hungry!

5 miles at lunch with DanS in 38:15 for a nice easy run with a good friend.  (Mirage Red)

2.25 miles with Justin in the early evening around the neighborhood in 15:50.  Nice night, great to get out with my son.  (Boost)

I was asked last week to pace the 3:30 group at Teton Dam Marathon this weekend and thought it would be an ok training run for RONR...plus getting paid.  Today I had to call the people asking me to do it for some logistics and I was told that I was now pacing the 4:00 group...because some guy from Utah didn't want to run that slow.  Neither do I...as a local resident and 5 time podium finisher (1st, 2nd, 2nd marathon, 1st twice in HM) I would have thought I would have been given some consideration and treated with manners.  Now, I am up for a good training run this weekend on my terms and spending the time with my family!   Not doing TDM again.

6am...Justin and I went to Freeman Park and ran the Tiger/Grizz XC course twice then 10 100m strides at the end.  He learned how tough the course is and the second time he ran in his spikes to get used to them.  Good way to start the summer so we can see the improvement.  (Fastwitch Red)

My daugther ran the 400m and 800m at the Hershey track meet today, very proud of her!
