Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Early morning 6M run...not used to this after a week long vacation. Not bad, actually faster than most lately.

Nice 6.25M MP run at lunch. Miles 1-2 at 6:05, 3-5M at 6:20ish, 6M at 6:17, last 0.25M at 6:40ish cool down. Paced felt good, except for the fall off from 3-5M.

Very easy early morning 6M run.  Right hip a bit sore this morning.  Planned 5 miles and gutted out 6, but not fast.

Nice easy paced 5.15M run around the river. GPS wouldn't turn on, so time is estimate (distance is certain due to knowledge of the course).

Nice easy early morning run. Lower back a bit stiff at start, so first 3M slower, but picked up to an avg. 7:00 mile for last 4.3M. No lunch time run today as I am taking Justin out for lunch for his 8th birthday then helping Kami get ready for his party this afternoon.

Got my GPS working again with the help of the Garmin website.  Seems like it may be a common problem for the unit to not want to turn on after charging (had a canned answer on the website) as it needs to be "reset."

Nice early morning 6.3M run. GPS was off for the first mile by 0.3M, so splits are a little goofy, but the avg. 7:00 pace felt very comfortable. Lower back a bit stiff again, need to do more stretching.

Nice MP 6M run at lunch in warm weather.  Pretty good splits: 6:23, 5:52, 6:06, 6:23, 6:25, 6:15.  A little stomach/bowel discomfort for miles 4-5 slowed me up a bit, but overall a good run.

Very easy 5M run this morning. Lower back a bit stiff and eft achilles a bit twingy at start of run (felt better after about 1/2 mile), achilles has been a bit off for the last few days...not enough to worry but to at least note. Shorter due to later start and being a bit tired.

Saw a very bright shooting star at start of run...very bright light moving fast across the sky with a very long tail...lasted about 3 seconds and then was gone. Pretty cool.

Nice 4.3M MP run on a beautfiul day at lunch.  No achilles pain during this run.
