Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Sunnyside hill. 5M up: 40:30, 5.05M down: 28:33. Good run, uphill hard this time and downhill was ok (first 2M good pace, last 3M slowed more than I wanted). Very good hill training day.

Easy 5M run this morning. Left ankle very sore before I started (almost didn't run). After shaking it out a bit, it felt fine, but man it hurt when I first tried to run. Legs really fatigued from yesterday's hill workout. Hope to get a lunch run in today, depends on work (acting for my boss this week).

Nice lunchtime 5.75M run. Legs still fatigued, so pace still a bit slower (6:37 avg.) One good MP mile due to good nice looking "rabbit" to catch! No pain in ankle during this run.

Slow, easy 7M run early this morning. Legs still a bit fatigued (??). Hope to get a faster run in today at lunchtime if work will allow.

Kinda crappy 6M run at lunch. Just couldn't get going today so the pace was slower than I wanted (6:40). No pain, just lethargy I guess...

Short easy 4M run this morning. Legs are feeling a lot better. Longer (16-18M) downhill training run planned for tonight with Brett Hill.

Hard 13.5M run with Brett Hill in the evening out of Wolverine canyon. The run, which he said was downhill, was as much up as down. Splits: 6:11, 5:59, 5:47, 5:48, 5:52, 5:57, 6:15 (including big hill), 6:42 (recovery & more hills), 6:53, 6:54, 7:04, 7:00, 7:12, 3:25. Both of us had bad stomach issues from dinner for the entire run. Brett was fading hard the last 5M so we slowed up to his pace.

Easy run at lunch today. Legs not too fatigued after yesterday's hard run, but still took it pretty easy at a 6:50 pace.

Willed myself through 8.1M this morning...I had nothing in the tank it seems as this was a very slow run (avg. 7:37). Just gutted it out (wanted to quit at 4M really bad) to get the miles in.

Nice loop from our hotel in Bozeman,MT.  Average a little slower as I was making sure I knew where I was going in the early morning darkness.  Overall good run, no fatigue left in legs.
