Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Slept in and went out for 8 miles on a very nice morning, no watch but ran decent effort for half the run.  (Boost)

Fun day in Teton National Park with my family and parents...canoeing and hiking.  Pretty smoky from the fire in Sun Valley though, that is really bad right now.  The campground we were at last month is in the closure area.

4:30am...6 easy untimed miles with Moxie.  Hips were creaky, nearly turned back at the corner but somehow got this one done.  (Mirage)

5.65 slower miles around the greenbelt on a hot day at lunch.  (Cortana)

4:45am...5 slow crappy miles with Moxie.  Got up a bit late and had to be into work early, so short run.  Hips really tight, felt like I could walk faster.  (Mirage)

Lunch...88 degrees and smoky for 4.35 miles.  Slow run, again...30 minutes.  (Cortana)

I skipped the morning run to rest my hips and will try to go for a harder effort run at lunch, work and weather permitting.

I squeezed in a quick run at lunch on a cool, cloudy 78 degree day!  4.25 miles in just over 28 minutes, hips still a bit tight.  (Cortana)

4am...got up early with hopes of going a bit longer this morning...not happening due to my right hip issues.  Barely got 6 miles in very slow with even some walking.  Hips is sore and I have no power in my stride.  Pocatello is in serious jeopardy...even to switch to the half is questionable in my mind.  Looks like it is time to take some time off to just let it settle down.  (Mirage)

I skipped the run this morning to rest my hip (still sore) and instead went to the gym to do weights with my wife.  Going camping this weekend so we have to finish getting ready for that as well.

When it rains...as I was unhooking the camper, I whacked my sore hip with a metal rod very hard...man it really is sore now!

Hip sore from the whack yesterday on top of the previous pain.  No run, but we did bike about 10 miles around camp.  Relaxing day playing cards, biking, hanging out, napping, getting ice cream at Rainy Creek.  Sounds like we had better weather at camp than back in IF.
