Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Decided to take a rest day...church, time with family, some shopping for school clothes. Legs, body and mind need the rest.

Had a really hard time even waking up this morning, let alone getting out (maybe the sleep aid last night help me finally get a good night sleep!).  Got out the door late for a short run with Moxie...4 easy miles.  (Ride 3)

6 miles in 45:45 at lunch...absolutely no energy and even felt a little light headed in the middle miles.  Beautiful day, sucky run...think I need some rest.  (Mirage Red)

4:15am...6 untimed miles with Moxie along Sunnyside.  Ran into Curt and had a chance to catch up and run together for the first time in quite a while.  Nice to see a friendly face.  (Ride 3)

4:30am...6 easy miles along Sunnyside with Moxie.  Very low energy and no pop in my legs at all.  Ugh, what a start to this day...(Ride 3)

A warm day at lunch...just in time for my workout!  1 mile warmup then into a tempo run...did not go quite as I wanted as about mile 2.5 my hip started to tighten up and got tighter as I approached mile 4.  So I stopped and stretched, recovered for a mile and ran 0.5M more at MP tempo.   Cooled down back to the locker room.  4.5M at tempo pace (5:48, 5:56, 5:58, 6:11, 3:00).  7 miles total in just over 45 minutes.  I wanted a better workout, but this is where I am!  (Mirage Red)

4:45am...5 slow untimed miles with Moxie along Sunnyside.  Feeling old and tired...SGM is weighing heavy on my mind and body right now.  Looking forward to some time off soon.  (Ride 3)

I have a buddy that missed getting into Boston by 5 SECONDS (his first BQ)! So bummed for Ron.

6 miles in 44:30 minutes on a warm day at lunch running with DanS.  Nice and easy conversational paced greenbelt run.  Split ways at mile 4.5 and I picked it up a little bit for the rest of the run.  More energy than this morning's run.  (Mirage Red)

Slept in and got the kids ready.  We got Justin on the bus to Bob Firman then went out for a decently paced run with Moxie along Sunnyside (4 miles).  Dropped off the dog, got some water and fuel then back out for a fartlek run through SRL to the running store.  Some hard paced segments.  11.25 miles in 1:18 including the last 2 miles in about 6:15 pace (6:56 AP).  (Fastwitch Red)

4:45am...7 miles from the hotel in 52 minutes, a bit of an easy progression run (8:13 - 7:01).  Warm but cloudy and a bit of a hilly route down Overland, on Five Mile, Victory and Cole.  I hope the rain holds off until after the kids races today! Good luck to all the runners!  (Ride 3)
