Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

No running again.  However, it was such a beautiful fall day that Kami and I got outside for a good 13M bike ride together after my folks grabbed the kids for the afternoon.  Nice pace, good conversation, awesome spending time with my wife!  We rode from our house down to Freeman Park and back along the river.  A great day!

16.2M early on the stationary bike at the gym.  Not as bad as I thought it was going to be...taking off a bit of time from running actually might be good to have a change and to be more inspired once I come back.

Busy day today at work then my son's soccer party after work to officially end the season!

My current routine...16.2M on the stationary bike at the gym in 45 minutes.  Good tunes (Kenny Loggins) kept me going.  Going to the Doc this morning to see about the foot...using a buddies walking boot today to see if that makes it feel better before the visit and he will let me borrow it if I have a fracture (save a few $).

No fracture!  Just angry tendons that need some rest, Ibuprofen and icing.  Looks like RICE for the next 1-2 weeks!  Yeah!!!
I was so excited I ran to the gym before getting lunch and did about 25 minutes of upper body weights (my pectorals were so sore from last Friday's workout) then went home and ate some pizza before heading back to work!

Yet another morning of cross training, riding 16.2M on the stationary bike at the gym.  At least a full week off from running to let the tendons recover before slowly starting back up.  Will count this as 4.5M easy again.

Busy day at work!

Still resting the foot, so another morning on the stationary bike for 16.2M (4.5M easy runnning equivalent) rockin' to "Journey's Greatest Hits".  Foot is feeling a lot better, I may go for a easy run on Saturday with the IF Group (those who aren't rehabbing from injuries that is).

6M run this morning!  Foot felt great during the whole run.  Nice and easy early in the dark (22 degrees, no wind) so I dressed in tights, cap, gloves, and fleece which was nice and toasty.  Yeah!

Stratos 2 - 280 miles

0.5M running back and forth from school to drop off/pick up kids.  Got to go to "doughnuts with Dad" with my kids at school today, pretty cool!

After doing some errands around the house, Kami and I went on a 13M bike ride together on a nice but cooler day.  Had a great time spending time together.  I wil count this as 4M easy running.

12.6M this morning with Lynette.  Nice easy paced run, but picked it up a bit in the second half and we were running 7:30ish for the last 5M or so.   Foot feels great!  Now the rest of the day is with the family (taking kids swimming while Kami works out at the gym, playing) and some chores around the house.   Gotta love Saturday's!

Stratos 2 - 293 miles
