Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6M early and easy on a cold morning (25 degrees) before church.  Achilles a bit twingy at the start, but felt better as the run progressed.  Energy level increased as the run went on as well and finished faster than I started.

A day of pumpkin carving is on tap with the family today!

7.5M slow and easy early on a decent morning to run (38 degrees, no wind).  Left achilles feeling better, foot twingy a little bit.  (Stratos)

Don't want to go to work today, had too much fun with the family over the weekend.

4.5M at lunch on a nice running day. Ran at a good MP clip for about 3.25M until I caught up with Dan S then ran the rest of the way in with him at a 7:30 pace. Overall run in 29 minutes and the legs felt mostly good (feeling ITB's a bit today). (Ride 1)

6.25M on the TM at the gym this morning as I didn't feel like braving the cold wind and rain.  6:30 average pace with the last mile sub 6:00 pace.  Legs felt good.  Only run today due to long day at work scheduled.

6M early on a cold windy morning.  Nothing special, just a dark cold slow run.  Another busy day at work so this will be the only run again.

Too cold outside when I got up (15 degrees) so I headed to the gym for a faster run on the TM.  7.5M in 47 minutes for an average 6:16 pace.  Started easy then worked my way up to a max 5:24 pace per quarter.  Overall felt good.  Long days at work ended yesterday, but they were good days!  (Stratos)

5.35M around the greenbelt at lunch on a sunny but kinda chilly day.  Nice and easy (7:00 pace avg), feeling a twing in my achilles again and think it is telling me its time to retire the Progride Ride and Stratos 3 shoes.  (Ride 1)

6.5M outside in the slightly wind and cool morning air (35 degrees, warmer than I expected).  Ran early on sloshing path as it snowed overnight but was in slush mode on the pavement.  Left achilles acting up a bit so with all of that this was a VERY slow paced run.  I will see if I want to run again at lunch.  (Trigon 2)

Donuts with Dad day at school this morning with the kids!!

4.5M at lunch on a cool, dreary misty day around the greenbelt.  Achilles still a bit twing, so this was just a very easy run in 33:30.  May take tomorrow off to just rest and be with the family.  (Ride)

I was looking and determined that so far this year I have now run the equivalent distance of driving from Boston to San Diego to LA or from Seattle to Orlando.  Can I stop now if I have run from coast to coast?

6M on the TM at home after Kami went to work and the kids were still asleep.  Watched "Hancock", but 6M was all that I could muster today...no motivation, need the break I think from higher volume training for at least a little while.

Time with family today and a Halloween party tonight with friends.
