Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

I slept in after a bad night's sleep and went out for an easy untimed 10K run with Moxie before church.

A good day at church in fellowship, Bible study and worship.  The ninth graders were confirmed today (2 of whom we were the sponsors)!  They all had to express "What Jesus means to me".   We had a good Bible study from Romans 3:20-28.

We went to the Jeremy Camp concert tonight with a group from church.  A great concert with a powerful message of the saving grace of Jesus...great to in a large energized group of Christians worshipping the Lord in song and praise!

4:30am...untimed 10K with Moxie on a nice morning before the rain started.  Tired from being up a little late at the concert last night, but the motivation was worth it!  (Tangent 1)

7.3 miles in 52:25 (7:11 avg.) around the greenbelt at lunch.  Warm and sunny, just very windy at the end with swirling gusts.  It is supposed to start going downhill from here the rest of week weather wise.   (TSD5)

7 untimed miles with Moxie at 4:15am.  Cool but calm, I was expecting snow so this was a pleasant surprise for this early November morning.  Most likely my only run due to other commitments today.

4:15am...15 degrees outside, brrr!  Not quite ready for that temp yet plus I wanted to run at a faster tempo, so to the gym I go!  1 mile warmup at 7:00 pace, then a 7 mile progression run starting at 6:27, bumping the TM up 1 click every 0.5M to 8 miles (ending at around 5:39 pace).  2 mile cooldown at slow/mid-MP range (6:30-6:15 pace range).  A total of 10 miles in 1:01:55 (6:11 average).   Long run mentally as I found my IPod was dead when I got to them gym...1 hour on a TM with no entertainment is a long time!

Only run for the day due to work schedule.

No run this morning, feeling very tired and lethargic and my lower back is sore.  I am staying home from work as I just don't feel very good...kinda glad I am not running Just Cuz this weekend based on how I feel today.

After sleeping most of the morning, I felt a lot better.  Saw that I had some things had popped up at work, so I did a quick run at lunch at home, 5 miles on the TM in just under 7 min pace, then went to work for the afternoon.

 4.75 miles around the greenbelt in the evening while my son was at TaeKwando.  Just easy running...

Acts 4:29  "An now, O Lord, hear their threats, and grant to your servants great boldness in their preaching,"

Awoke expecting it to be cold so I had already planned for a hard TM run at the gym.  Temp outside wasn't bad (30 degrees) but with a kink in my neck, I decided to still hit the gym and see how far I wanted to run (no real plan for today).

1 mile wu at around 7:00 pace, then into a 5 mile tempo, starting at 5:56 and progressing to 5:42 pace for the last mile.  I was going to just cooldown for a mile, but instead recovered for about 0.25M then finished off 10 miles at mid MP for the last 4 miles to complete the run in 1:01:09, a 6:07 average pace.  A better run than I was expecting today.  Hips started to ache a little around mile 7, but not too bad.

Now for a day off with Kami...volunteering at kid's school, vet appointment for Moxie, lunch with friends, and perhaps dinner with the IFHS runner I have been helping and his dad.

4:45am...7 easy miles with Moxie on a cold (25 degrees) and windy morning.  The path had some slick spots from the snow we received last night.  Starting the transition to winter running, it had to happen some time.

My son's first swim meet is this morning, looking forward to seeing how he does.  He has really enjoyed swimming.  Between he and my daughter, they have got me swimming a bit too.

Bummer that I have come down with a nasty cold after timing at my son's swim meet...I am just breaking down this week.
